Registration is now open for Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department’s first annual Motorcycle Tour, riding the back roads of Tyrrell County on Saturday, July 23.
The tour was postponed twice before on account of rain.
“Come ride and dine with us,” invites Joie Spencer, event spokesman. “There are a lot of curvy back roads in Tyrrell County, and motorcyclists love curvy roads.”
The tour will start and end at TVFD Station 1, 618 North Road Street in Columbia. Lineup will be at 10 a.m., kick stands up at 10:30 and “We ride!”
Tour distance is approximately 125 miles, with a break at midpoint.
Participants will be served a barbecue lunch upon return to the station. Barbecue will be cooked by TVFD firefighters.
The fee is $25 for motorcycle and driver, plus $5 additional for a passenger. All types of motorcycles are welcome to participate.
All riders will be required to read and sign a liability release agreement prior to participation. Any riders under the age of 18 years must have a parent or guardian to sign.
All proceeds go to Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department Inc., a private, non-profit organization.
TVFD sponsors the ATV Rally each fall, and the Motorcycle Tour is a spring/summer fundraiser for Tyrrell’s volunteer firefighters.
