Arrests follow drug sale complaints

On July 12, 2016, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Jimmy Lewis, 26 years of age, of 408 E. Sixth St. in Washington, and Jimmy Lanier, 65 years of age, of 408 E. Sixth St. in Washington. They both were charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Their arrest stemmed from investigators receiving complaints and making purchases of marijuana from the residence. Investigators executed search warrants on the residence and found marijuana, digital scales and plastic bags used to package marijuana.

Lewis and Lanier were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $15,000 secured bonds.
