From MATTIE Arts Center
SWAN QUARTER — We are excited to share with the public some adjustments to the Down East Arts and Craft Show to make this a true destination arts event. We have backed up the date for warmer weather to the last Saturday of September. This will allow us to hold the arts and crafts festival outdoors on the grassy “commons” (between the new government center and the old courthouse) while reserving the front portico of the government center for musicians. The lobby of the government center will still be available for booth space (on an “as needed” basis). Restrooms will be open to the public both in the government center and inside MATTIE Arts Center (old courthouse).
Applications from artists and craft artisans will be juried and are now being accepted for review and selection. Applications must be received by Aug. 15.
Once selected, applicants will be notified by email or telephone, at which point the booth fee will become due. Booth fee is $30 for each 10-by-10-foot space. Booth tables, chairs and shelters are not provided. Please pack accordingly.
For any questions, please contact Judy McLawhorn at 252-926-2787 or email info@mattieartscenter.org.
