H. Swindell Braddy

Mr. Holmes “Swindell” Braddy, age 75, a resident of Douglas Crossroads community, Washington, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Rev. Sarah Saxe. Burial will follow in Zion Episcopal Church Cemetery.
The following will serve as active pallbearers: Shannon Woolard, Keith Wallace, Timmy Douglas, Gary Hollis, Wes Williams and Stevie Braddy. Larry Ebron and Butch Cutler will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Braddy was born in Beaufort County on October 23, 1940. He was the son of the late Elijah Abner Braddy and Callie Virginia Boyd Braddy. Mr. Braddy was a retired salesman for Coastal Wholesale Company in Washington. He was a member of Zion Episcopal Church where he served on the Church vestry. Mr. Braddy was a charter member of the Bunyan Fire Department. He was an active member of the Saturday Night Jamboree.
On December 20, 1963, Mr. Braddy married the former Lena Adelaide “Tillie” Woolard, who survives.
Mr. Braddy is survived by his wife, Tillie of the home; two daughters, Cecilia Cutler and husband, Michael Wayne of Chocowinity, Kimberly Harding and husband, C.D. of Chocowinity; four grandchildren, Jordy Cutler and wife, Ashley, Kaitlyn Cutler, Taylor Tippett and husband, Josh, Zachary Boland; two great-grandchildren, Addison and Emma Cutler; a brother, Billy Braddy of Pinetown; and a sister, Kathy Adams of New Bern.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Braddy was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Bryan Cutler.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home.
