John Paul Leslie of Corpus Christi, Texas died quietly on August 23, 2016.

John was a NROTC graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He served as a US Naval officer aboard USS Suribachi (AE 21) (1958-60), and USS Darby (DE 218) (1961-62) during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After leaving the Navy, he earned his MS in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University.

Under his determined guidance, TI earned the coveted Baldridge Award in 1992, at which time John retired and moved to Washington, North Carolina to run his own Q&R consulting business. The move allowed him to indulge in his love of the water, and he took frequent boat trips with Elaine on his beloved little Bayliner, Blue Highways.
