Washington police search for missing woman

The Washington Police Department is searching for a 32-year-old woman believed to be suffering from dementia or other impairment.

On Tuesday evening, the North Carolina Center for Missing Persons issued a silver alert for Colesha Niele Jackson, who was last seen at the Magnuson Hotel on Carolina Avenue in Washington.

Jackson was wearing loose-fitting clothes and carrying a green backpack, black bag and white pillow, according to the alert. She is African-American, 5-foot-6 and 110 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities believe she may be headed toward Virginia Beach.

Update: At 1 a.m. Thursday, the Center for Missing Persons cancelled the silver alert for Jackson.
