Elizabeth “Betsy” Tetterton

Mrs. Elizabeth “Betsy” Earl Ross Hodges Tetterton, age 90, a resident of Dogwood Drive, Pamlico Village, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.

Mrs. Tetterton was born in Beaufort County on July 3, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Leonard Earl Ross and Norma Jones Ross. Mrs. Tetterton was a retired employee with the Department of Social Services. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Unit #15, and the Tea and Topics Book Club. In her spare time, Mrs. Tetterton loved to read, write poetry, paint and play the piano.

Mrs. Tetterton was married to Winston Lee Hodges Sr., who preceded her in death. Later, she married Marvin Pemberton Tetterton, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Tetterton is survived by her children, Betsey Lee Hodges of Washington; Winston Lee Hodges Jr. and wife, Jayne of Raleigh; Latham Pate Hodges and wife, Anne of Fayetteville; and Marvin Tetterton Jr. and wife Pam of Pinetown; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, Mrs. Tetterton was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Ross Boyer.
