Tyrrell County Schools and Pocosin Arts have partnered to bring art instruction back to Tyrrell Elementary School.

Through this partnership Pocosin Arts provides a residency with access to their studios and facilities while the school district provides a monthly stipend for the teacher. TES students will receive art class one time per week.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tenisha Morrison as our art teacher,” said Dr. Will Hoffman, school superintendent. “Ms. Morrison has a Fine Arts degree from East Carolina University and two years of teaching experience. It has been important to revive our arts program at Tyrrell Elementary to enhance creativity, problem solving and provide a comprehensive education for our students.”
