Henry Daniel Mann Jr., age 82, a resident of Belhaven, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Facility after a brief illness. Henry was born November 20, 1933 to the late Nona Sharpe Mann and Henry Daniel Mann Sr. After graduating high school, Henry attended Atlanta Christian College in East Point, GA and began his career as a minister for 61 years across 5 states. On February 27, 1953 he married the love of his life Shirley Vaughn Spotswood, whom he was blessed with 63 glorious years of matrimony. Henry was predeceased by his parents and three sisters. Henry and Shirley was blessed with one son, Henry Daniel “Dan” Mann III and Leslie Cunningham of Weaverville, NC, three daughters, Dana M. Swain (Billy) of Washington, NC, Deidra M. Mason (David) of Bath, NC, and Donna M. Pruet (Dave) of Avoca, IN. Other survivors include his brother Russell C. Mann (Annette) of Robersonville, NC; nine grandchildren: Meghan, Rebekah, Hank, Kent, Travis, Gregory (Allison), Ginny, Kayla and Kevin (Courtney); five great-grandchildren, Callie, Brynn, Blake, Elias and Silas. A celebration of Henry’s life will be held 4:00 pm, Saturday, September 24, 2016 at West Belhaven Church of Christ, of Belhaven, with James Scheffler officiating and music provided by Treva Tankard.

The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church and other times at the home of Deidra Mason, 334 Rest Haven Road, Bath.
