Take A Stand or 5k Walk/Run to help end Domestic Violence. By taking a stand we intend to remind the nation that there are still countless people — victims and survivors, their children and families, their friends and family, their communities — impacted by domestic violence.  We, all of us, should not stop until society has zero tolerance for domestic violence and until all victims and survivors can be heard.

Inner Banks Hotline hosts two major fundraisers, A Spring Fling in April and the 5K in October, to help raise funds for victims and awareness of domestic violence. With the funds raised we can help many victims in need of ending the abuse in their life.

This year for our 5k instead of a timed event we will have a fun filled Color Run.  This is an event the whole family can enjoy. Bring your mom, dad, sister, brother, wife, husband, friends or anyone and come join us.

The race is Saturday, October 1. Registration begins at 7 a.m., race begins at 8 a.m. Registration is $30 per person, or if you get a team of five or more the registration is only $20 per person. Participants will register in the gazebo at the waterfront on Main Street.

The route will start at the waterfront, go along Main and North Road streets to Riverneck Road, back along Road Street to Main Street, to the middle school, then back along Main to the waterfront. There will be color stations at mile 1, mile 2, and coming across the finish line.

Domestic Violence is not a singular incident, it’s an insidious problem deeply rooted in our culture.
