AHOSKIE — Vidant Pulmonology opened a practice in Ahoskie, located at 700 S. Academy St., as well as an office in Washington, located at 608 E. 12^th St.

The practice provides care for acute respiratory distress syndrome, asthma, bronchitis, chronic cough, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, emphysema, hemoptysis, lung cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, pleural effusion, sarcoidosis, solitary pulmonary nodule and tuberculosis.

Dr. Gabor Varju, certified in internal, pulmonary and sleep medicine, who has been seeing patients in the outpatient clinic at Vidant Roanoke-Chowan Hospital since 2008, will now be seeing patients at both practices.

The Washington practice will be open every other Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and every Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Varju will serve patients at the Ahoskie practice every other Tuesday when he is not in Washington; that practice is open 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
