Walk-Bike to School Day is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 5, which is also National Walk to School Day. Students and faculty of Tyrrell Elementary School will be walking or biking from the Children’s Playground beside the Sunoco Station starting at 7:45 a.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.

Columbia Mayor Michael Griffin has been invited to join in as Grand Marshal.

“We will have plenty of pedestrian and bike safety materials,” said Dr. Will Hoffman, superintendent.

School resource officer Craig Davenport and school counselor Barbara Rhodes have been organizing Walk-Bike to School Days for Tyrrell Elementary School for the past three years.
