Grimesland High School’s Class of 1958 recently held a class reunion — 58 years after graduation — at Dixie Queen Restaurant in Farmville. Vice President Lendy Edwards opened the meeting with a moment of silence honoring six deceased classmates: Talmage Neal, Will Faucette, Joanne Elks, James Earl Heath, Carolyn Minton Robertson and Peggy Jenkins Leggett.

Lendy gave a great speech about “Why we have reunions” and Curtis Wagoner graced the table and we were served a delicious seafood dinner. There was lots of laughing, picture taking and old memories of the bygone years brought back to life. We voted to meet every year.

Those attending the 58th reunion were (pictured, front row from left) Lendy Edwards, Curtis Wagoner, Mary Frances King Dixon, Betty Lou Whichard, Elaine Gurganus Cox, Jean Barrow Meaure, (back row from left) Sophia Clark McLawhorn, President Joe Bell, Fred Stokes, and one teacher from high school, Julia Ventgers Rogers.

We all had a wonderful evening. Out thanks go out to Lendy, Fred and Elaine, who made it all happen, for a job well done.
