North Carolina Sen. Bill Cook presented a check on behalf of the state of North Carolina for $50,000 to Ruth’s House, the domestic violence shelter in Washington, on Monday. Cook (center) presented it to Ruth’s House Executive Director Valerie Kines (far left). Cook said domestic violence is an important cause to him, and he was glad to be able to give back through the state grant.
