Mr. Louis Clyde Pittman Jr., age 63, a resident of 2091 Long Ridge Road, Pinetown, NC, died Friday, October 28, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Pinetown Church of Christ and will be officiated by Marty Alligood. Burial will follow in Latham Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Buster Towell, Eric Towell, Scott Sheppard, Jay Swindell, Marc Brinn, Rick Pittman, Bobby Pittman and Jason Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Thomas and Will Jefferson.
Mr. Pittman was born in Nash County on May 25, 1953 to Louis C. and Marion L. Pittman. On September 12, 1980 he married Andrea Towell Pittman who survives. He was a member of Pinetown Church of Christ and served as a deacon. Mr. Pittman loved to work with his hands, be outside and occasionally go fishing. He enjoyed target shooting and guns, fireworks, ghost stories and legends, bonfires, family get-togethers and even getting in the truck to chase deer with the children. Mr. Pittman felt he was the caretaker of the family, and he made sure that his family was taken care of especially his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his wife, Andrea Page Towell Pittman, of the home, two children, Coy Pittman of Chapel Hill, Jennifer Pittman Smith and husband Grant of Pinetown, three grandchildren, Emily Makayla Smith, Hannah Page Smith, Clark Allen Meador, three brothers, Richard T. Pittman and wife Susan, Robert E. Pittman and wife Helen both of Pinetown, C. Bruce Pittman and wife Ann of Kill Devil Hills, two sisters, Frances P. Sheppard and husband Edward of Washington, Helen P. Brinn and husband Brice of Pinetown, fifteen nieces and nephews, twenty great-nieces and nephews, and two great-great-nieces.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Clyde Pittman and Marion Latham Pittman.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
