Elizabeth “Beth” Saleeby

Mrs. Eva Elizabeth “Beth” Adell Saleeby, age 53, a resident of 3298 Yankee Hall Road, Greenville, died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at the home.

A celebration of Beth’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 10, 2016 in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in Washington. The family will receive friends following the service in the church parlor.

Beth was born in Beaufort County on June 13, 1963. She was the daughter of the late Eli Najeeb Saleeby and Leslie Davis Saleeby.

A graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1981, Beth went to Peace College in Raleigh, NC. She continued her educational journey by receiving a dual master’s in vocational rehabilitation services and vocational evaluation from East Carolina University. She completed supervision training through Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) at Georgia State University. Beth was a retired Unit Manager with the North Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. Additionally, she served in leadership roles in area vocational rehabilitation offices.

Beth was an active member of the North Carolina Rehabilitation Association (NCRA) as well as the National Rehabilitation Association (NRA), a member of the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) where, as a former chair, she helped lead the Employees Political Action Committee (EMPAC) to influence positive change for disabled citizens throughout the state. She was also a member of the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women (NCFRW).

Locally, Beth was a member of the Washington Noon Day Rotary Club, the Jaycees, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She also served on the Washington Recreation Advisory Committee.

Beth was active in the dance community and received honors in many dance competitions as well as being recognized a finalist in the Miss Teen North Carolina pageant.

On May 20, 2000, she married Jeffrey Lane Ford, who survives.

Surviving with her husband are three daughters, Courtney Laine Ford of Lubbock, TX, Leanne Ford of Greenville, Shannon Elizabeth Ford of Bath; three grandchildren, Neil Ryan Selby, Payton Nicole Shiver and Landon Trey Shiver; and many loving friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Saleeby was preceded in death by her son, Eli Saleeby Lee and a brother, Charles Michael Saleeby.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Washington High School Wrestling Team (Eli Saleeby Lee Memorial Wrestling Tournament), 400 Slatestone Road, Washington, NC 27889.
