An array of degrees, diplomas and certificates are available for students who live far from the Beaufort County Community College campus or would like to pursue a degree while continuing to work at their current job.

The following certificates and degrees do not require any time in seated classes. Online options are ideal for students with long commutes or students living outside of BCCC’s service area.

Many positions will offer a pay increase for employees with certificates, which can be obtained in as little as 12 credit hours. Online certificates include basics of criminal justice, business administration, corrections, essential police operations, basic medical office, medical coding, software applications specialist, word processing specialist and basic office skills. Educational certificates available entirely online include early childhood, special education, infant/toddler, school age and early childhood administration.

Diplomas can also help students get ahead in their careers or land the job they need.

Diplomas in business administration, criminal justice, medical office administration and office administration are all available entirely online. Students can also advance with an associate degree in criminal justice, medical office administration or early childhood education, or obtain an associate degree in general education on their way to a four-year institution.

With a service area of 2,008 square miles, BCCC serves the most rural area in the state. Commuting to campus is not always an option for students, and staying with family is often more economical. Students who work full-time or are raising families find it hard to make room in their lives to enroll as full-time students. These online options give students the option of beginning or continuing their education from their home. Online classes also offer more flexibility so that students can complete a degree around their work schedule.
