Mr. Larry Wilson Linton Jr., age 52, a resident of Bath, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 26, 2016 at his place of business. There will be a celebration of his life at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2016, gathering together at Bonner’s Point, Bath. In case of rain, the alternative location will be held at the Bath Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will follow at Hillside Funeral Service, Washington, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Bill and Patricia Cutler, 474 Millfield Road, Bath. Larry was born January 17, 1964 to Betty W. and Larry W. Linton Sr. He was a 1982 graduate of John A. Wilkerson High School, Belhaven. All of his working life he was in the automotive repair business and for many years worked and operated L&L Body Shop and most recently was the owner of Inner Banks Collision, located in Bath. Larry was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, Pinetown. He enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, and spending time with friends. His smile was the brightest while riding on Bath Creek or spending time at Sandy Point talking to his many friends. He enjoyed vacationing with his family at Ocracoke Island and reeling in fish whenever possible. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry W. Linton Sr. in 2014. He is survived by his mother, Betty Woolard Linton of Pinetown; two children: son, Trent Linton and daughter, Hayley Grace of Bath, as well as their mother, Donna Arnold, also of Bath. He is also survived by his companion, Lisa Alligood of Washington. Other survivors include his sister, Donna Lou Edwards and husband Kyle Edwards of Simpson, NC; three nephews: Matthew and wife Brittany Edwards of Greenville, NC, Kaleb Edwards and Jacob Edwards of Simpson, NC, and one great-niece, Baylee Lynn Edwards. He held close family ties with Virginia B. Keech and husband Mitchell of Pinetown. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be directed to his children to be held for trust toward their education at First South Bank, PO Box 279, Chocowinity, NC 27817, Attn: Vickie Waters, or donations to the Bath Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 272, Bath, NC 27808. The family wishes to express their sincerest thanks to the Beaufort County EMS, the Bath Volunteer Fire Department and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Department for their quick and caring response.
