About 60 people gathered at the Belhaven town docks for a rally in support of the Save Our Hospital campaign. Belhaven Mayor Adam O’Neal, Alderman Amos Wilson, Beaufort County Commissioner Hood Richardson and the Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II, president of the state NAACP, were also present. Although Pantego Creek’s membership voted to begin demolition of the old hospital property earlier this month, Superior Court Judge Cy Grant issued a 10-day temporary restraining order to halt any proceedings until at least next week.
