CHRISTMAS CHOSEN: The Belhaven Arts Council announced the winning trees decorated for the organization’s Festival of Trees in downtown Belhaven. First place went to the Belhaven Girl Scouts’ tree, with its handmade decorations and put together by the scouts; second place, to the ladies’ favorite, Shear Elegance Salon, located on Pamlico Street; and third-place went the children’s favorite, R.O.C.K. Museum, also on Pamlico Street, which was decorated with dinosaurs and more. The Festival of Trees is still open for visits from noon to 7 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until Dec. 31.
