Frances T. Armstrong

Frances Thompson Armstrong, age 78, a resident of Bath, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, at home.
After her retirement from Beaufort County Community College, where she was an instructor in data processing, she became quite active in wildlife and environmental preservation causes. The Friends of the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge gave her the 2011 award “For Outstanding and Dedicated Service.” She adored her several dachshund pets over the decades, the last, Lester “Prez” Young being especially memorable. All services are private.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roy Armstrong II, her two sons Ricks Armstrong of Hope Mills NC, Wells Armstrong of Bath, wife Kathryn, and two granddaughters Grace Armstrong and Audrey Armstrong, daughters of Wells and Kathryn, six brothers and sisters in Georgia: Holden Thompson, Glenn Simpson, Nancy Blanchard, Jack Thompson, Patty King and Jean Rybert.
