Jeanne Harrison Weaver, of Plymouth, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 in her home.
Mrs. Weaver was born in Washington County and was the daughter of the late Henry Eugene “H.E.” Sr. and Neva Bateman Harrison. A graduate of Plymouth High School and Salem College, she was employed as a bookkeeper for many years with H.E. Harrison Wholesale Company of Plymouth before becoming a co-owner in the company, and later worked with East Carolina Supply from where she retired. A member of Plymouth Presbyterian Church, Jeanne served as a Sunday School teacher and held several positions with the Presbyterian Women. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader and participating in the Plymouth Supper Club with her husband.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D. Marvin Weaver, and by a brother, Henry Eugene Harrison Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Nona Weaver Elliott and husband Eric; two grandsons, Chase Elliott and wife Megan and Cody Elliott, all of Roper; a sister, Joy Harrison Rodman of Washington; two nieces, Kathryn R. Carter and Cara Harrison; and two nephews, Henry E. Harrison III and Patrick B. Harrison.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m. in First Christian Church, 509 E. Main Street, Plymouth, and will be officiated by The Rev. Candace Worth. Friends may join the family in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service, and all other times at the residence. A private burial will be in the Windley Cemetery.
Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, is assisting the family with the cremation arrangements.
