Julia Hoyt Litchfield

Julia Hoyt Litchfield, 84, had her Easter Day, January 7, 2017. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 am at Oakdale Cemetery, officiated by Father Jim Reed.

Mrs. Litchfield was born in Washington, NC, on January 24, 1932. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth Stancill Hoyt and Edmund Slade Hoyt Jr. Her husband, Colonel US Army Retired Willard Bradford Litchfield, preceded her in death on October 7, 2016. They were married 65 years. Surviving Mrs. Litchfield are her daughters, Julia Beth Litchfield and Mary Litchfield Toler (husband Steve Toler); two grandsons, O’Bealie Bradford Rawls (wife Meredith Buck Rawls) and Matthew Bonner Rawls (wife Caroline Phillips Rawls); a sister, Betty Hoyt Parvin (husband Billy Parvin); nephews Gus Parvin (wife Nicole Parvin) and Ed Parvin (wife Kate Parvin) and many great-nieces and nephews.

She graduated with the class of 1950 of Washington High School. She was employed for 24 years at Stewart’s Jewelry Store. Her greatest pastime was working in her yard. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed getting the Keynotes ready for its weekly mailing with a group of volunteers with whom she was very close.

The family would like to especially thank Diane, Marthelia (Duck), Dinah and Clarine for giving her their love and special care through her declining health. God bless each of you!
