Pocosin Lakes a wintering habitat for waterfowl

Established in the early 1960s to provide a wintering habitat for waterfowl and other migratory birds, Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge offers an opportunity to see thousands of mallards, wigeons, teals, gadwalls, black ducks, tundra swan, Canada geese and much more this time of year.
