Ralph R. Culbertson

Dick Culbertson was the son of John D. Culbertson III and Mary Richards Culbertson. Born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, outside of Pittsburgh, he attended Sewickley Academy, Culver Military Academy and Penn State. Dick spent most of his career as a manufactures representative, first in New Jersey, and then in Northern California. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Ross, California and a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Hollister, California. He served on the vestry in both churches. He and his wife enjoyed traveling. They went to Kenya on safari and various cruises to South East Asia, the Baltic, to St. Petersburg, the Greek Islands, and across the Indian Ocean. He loved to collect paintings and objects d’arte wherever they traveled. Dick retired to North Carolina in 2004 with his wife Marty. The couple lived in Chocowinity, NC and then Washington, NC. Dick was an avid golfer, Steelers fan and trap shooter. He leaves his devoted wife, Martha Annin Culbertson, his brother, John D. Culbertson, sister, Tingle C. Barnes, five nieces & nephews, eight grandnieces and nephews. Dick loved life, lived large, and will be missed by his family and many friends. A celebration of his life will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Chocowinity. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be directed to Trinity Episcopal Church, PO Box 332, Chocowinity, NC 27817. Hillside Funeral Service has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Culbertson family.
