On Saturday afternoon, members of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church took the plunge to raise money for Stop Hunger Now, a relief organization committed to ending hunger worldwide. The church uses the funds to purchase food for the organization. More than 20 people jumped in the 39-degree Pamlico River water, and each one was asked to raise at least $100, according to organizer Judy Van Dorp. Last year, the fundraiser raised around $4,500.
