Valerie Whitehead’s sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade innovation and design classes at P.S. Jones Middle School recently had the opportunity to participate in a “real-life” assembly line. Hampton Art, a subsidiary of National Spinning, was gracious and supplied the classes with the materials necessary to do an actual assembly line. Students worked together to package beads that are sold in craft supply stores. This was a valuable learning opportunity that allowed the students to participate in a “real-life” job. The students learned about working together and what it takes to get a product ready for consumers.
