Show features wide range of art

An Arts of the Pamlico show currently showcased at the Turnage Theatre features a wide variety of pieces representing nearly every aspect of the art world.

“Mixed Media” debuted Feb. 2 and is open to the public until Feb. 28.

Juror Jake Van Wyk selected “Tropical Dreams” by Bath artist McGowan Pierson as the recipient of the first place ribbon. Second place went to Carolyn Sleeper for her “Black & White Bird Dish” and Pat Carlson’s “Mountain Retreat” finished third.

Honorable mention awards went to Dottie Anne Walker, “Walk on the Wild Side;” Lynne Anderson, “Bloom;” McGowan Pierson, “Keep Dreaming;” Elisa Maple, “Mask Series #1;” Jeffrey Jakub, “Dragon Marsh;” Maryalice Johnson, “Spinal Totem;” and Lynne Anderson, “Mark 3:25.”
