Dorothy Ange Williams

Dorothy Ange Williams, 78, of 322 Beech Ridge Road, Belhaven, was called to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Washington.
Born in Hyde County, March 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Oliver Ange and Olivia Williams Ange Jennette. She married Ralph George Williams Sr. October 13, 1952, who preceded her in death February 6, 2015.
She was a member of the Swan Quarter Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as not only a pastor, but a teacher. Her unwavering faith, devotion and love of God is a testament to the loved ones she has left behind. She is, and always will be, an inspiration to her family and everyone that was blessed to have known her. Her love of the Lord and her compassion was evident in every aspect of her life including the countless visits to nursing homes and those in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and a great cook. She has blessed her family with a remarkable legacy that will never be forgotten and she will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 2501 Lynnsburg Road, Scranton, NC 27875, with burial to follow at the family plot beside the church. Pastor Mike Wheeler will officiate.
Surviving are four sons, Ralph Williams Jr., and wife Vickie of Scranton, Kent Williams and wife Carol Ann of Engelhard, Joe Williams and wife Melody of Scranton, Bryan A. Williams and wife Rhonda of Pinetown; two daughters, Sheila W. Garrish and husband Rayford of Scranton and Esther W. Keech and husband Mack of Free Union. Mrs. Dorothy was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Sandy Berry, Rayford Garrish Jr., Ralph Williams III, Clafton Williams, Tabitha Lewis, Jonathan Williams, Melburn Keech, Suzanne Watkins, Stacey Keech, Melody Jo Williams, Joseph Williams II, Tonya Simmons and Bryan Williams Jr. She was also blessed with 28 great-grandchildren: RaShawn Whitney, MaKayla Williams, Chance Garrish, Madison Williams, Aubrey Williams, Ian Williams, Londyn Williams, Layla Williams, Trevor Lewis, Jaila Williams, Jonna Williams, Josie Keech, Londyn Keech, Lily Keech, Memphis Keech, Kendall Watkins, Emery Watkins, Kailey Keech, Kacey Keech, Brandt Williams, Hurley Williams, Braxton Kline, Joseph “Tripp” Williams III, Benjamin Simmons IV, Dylan Simmons, Nathaniel Simmons, Olivia Simmons and Brooklyn Williams and one great-great-grandson Orion Garrish.
She was preceded in death by a sister Lois Ange Gibbs.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Swan Quarter Pentecostal Holiness Church, PO Box 131, Swan Quarter, NC 27885.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter, and other times at the home of her daughter, Esther W. Keech, 7767 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC 27865.
