Choco Farm Bureau capped off its undefeated season with a 26-19 win over Coastal Insurance in the 7-8 boys division championship game.
Kisaiah Booth broke the ice with a free throw, and Walker Selby poured in three more points as Choco Farm took a 4-0 lead after one quarter of action. Luke Bullouck hauled in a rebound and put it back up to get Coastal on the scoreboard, but his side would never be able to draw even.
Calek Smaw was the driving force for Choco Farm in the third. He notched back-to-back baskets, then assisted on Josiah Jennette’s layup that gave their team a 12-6 lead heading into the fourth.
Coastal Insurance threatened in a thrilling fourth quarter. A free throw and a 3-pointer, which brought spectators to their feet, let it pull within two, 12-10, with plenty of time to go.
Choco Farm took over form there, though. Consecutive baskets from Jennette fueled a 12-2 run by the undefeated boys, giving them a commanding 24-12 lead. Coastal Insurance was able to get to the free-throw line often down the stretch, but couldn’t produce enough offense to complete the comeback.
