After Jewelniyha Williams’ 3-pointer tied the game at 34 apiece, Briasia Sommerville had back-to-back baskets in the last minute. Ka’nyah O’Neal knocked down a trey of her own to pull the Lady Ballers within one. They had a chance to either tie the game or take the lead on a trip to the free-throw line with five seconds remaining, but couldn’t convert.

Sommerville got things going with a baseline jumper, but O’Neal responded immediately with her first make from long range. There were four lead changes in the first quarter. Kaitlin White’s basket at the end of the opening period gave the Lady Sparks an 11-7 advantage.

Mariah Jones opened the second with an and-1. The rest of the Lady Ballers followed her lead as they quickly built a 14-11 lead.

They went on to lead the Lady Sparks until that late rally. O’Neal scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to push the Lady Ballers’ lead to 29-23, and a triple had them lead by as many as seven points.
