Northside Science Olympiad team performs well at regionals

Northside High School’s Science Olympiad varsity and junior varsity teams competed Feb. 25 in the N.C. Science Olympiad 2017 Greenville Regional Tournament at East Carolina University.

The teams competed in 23 different events at the tournament. The Northside High School varsity team was the first-place overall winner in the tournament out of 24 Division C teams. The Northside High School junior varsity team placed 13th out of the 24 competing teams. This is the first time in the history of the Northside High School Science Olympiad program that a varsity team has been the first-place overall winner of the regional tournament.

The varsity team will be advancing to the N.C. Science Olympiad tournament at North Carolina State University on April 21-22, to compete with other teams from across the state. Listed below are the medals received by the team members:
