Works by dozens of Beaufort County school students are currently on display in an exhibition hosted by Arts of the Pamlico in the Turnage Theatre galleries in downtown Washington.

“Students of the Pamlico Art Show” opened March 3 and will remain through March 28.

The first group in the show features artwork by students from P.S. Jones Middle School, John Small Elementary School, Eastern Elementary School, Southside High School, Northeast Elementary School, Chocowinity Primary School, Bath Elementary School and Beaufort County Community College.

Art work representing other schools in the county will be rotated in through the exhibition’s run, according to Arts of the Pamlico staff member Crystal Holman.

Various programs aimed at enriching the talents of young artists will be hosted by Arts of the Pamlico in the coming months. These include a week long “Art Break” planned for April 17-21 and a series of arts camps planned for this summer.
