A duo of world-class pianists is returning to Beaufort County March 25-26.

Captivating Keyboards, comprised of Alan Curtis Tripp, of Clearwater, Florida, and Scott Jonathan Griffin, of Jacksonville, Florida, will bring their style of Christian music to two churches while in town.

Their weekend will start with a performance at Old Ford Church of Christ on March 25 at 7 p.m., followed by another at First Baptist Church in Chocowinity on March 26 at 6 p.m.

“This year they’re going to bring some singers with them, so we’re looking forward to that,” said Judy Sheriff, music director at First Baptist. “We are in for a real treat.”

The duo has been performing together for more than a decade, according to the Captivating Keyboards website, and Tripp and Griffin seek “to provide creative and engaging concert experiences to audiences everywhere. Through our interactive musical productions we seek to improve lives by bringing joy through emotional and spiritual healing.”

Sheriff said First Baptist was packed last year, and the event is for church members and non-members alike.

“This is for anybody, everybody,” Sheriff said. “They are outstanding,”

Crystal Woolard, of Old Ford Church of Christ, said her church is excited to host the duo for the first time.

“My mom actually had seen them when they performed in Chocowinity,” Woolard said. “She thought that would be a good thing to have to raise money.”

There is no cost to attend, but both churches will take up love offerings.

Woolard said any donations given at Old Ford will go toward special-needs programs ACCEPT and ExCEL to ensure those children have fun experiences in a safe environment.

“I just hope people will come out again,” Sheriff said. “We are really excited to get them because they travel all over the world, so to be able to have them here is such a blessing.”
