Carl Jackson “Jack” Waters

Carl Jackson “Jack” Waters, 90, of Plymouth, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at his residence in Plymouth.

Born November 8, 1926 in Beaufort County, he was the son of the late Ottis Herman Waters and Sudie Cox Waters and was preceded in death by his sisters, Velma Justice, Lorena Burbage and Selma Styons. Jack was a retired fiber operator with Weyerhaeuser Corporation with 47 years of service and a member of Plymouth Church of Christ. He served in the United States Merchant Marines, was a gentleman farmer and avid antique car enthusiast.

His family includes his wife of sixty nine years Melrose Styons Waters of Plymouth, N.C.; daughters, Susan W. Arrants and husband Eddie of Beaufort, N.C. and Jackie W. Adams and husband Wade of Jamesville, N.C.; sons, Carl J. Waters Jr. and wife Betty of Parkton, MD, Geary Waters and wife Terry, Charles Waters and wife Michele and Wayne Waters and wife Linda, all of Plymouth, N.C. and Randy Waters of Raleigh, N.C.; brother, Sonny Waters of Lake Marion, MI.; sisters, Ophelia Cutler of Washington, N.C. and Linda Burbage of Pinetown, N.C. and over forty grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Plymouth Church of Christ with Bob Moulden, Jay Hardison and Eddie Ewell officiating. Burial followed in Hillside Memorial Gardens. Family received friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Plymouth Church of Christ and other times at the residence.
