Lonnie “Ben” Crisp

Ben Crisp, age 60, a resident of 601 Ball Road, Washington, died Monday, March 20, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Snowd Branch Church of God, officiated by Pastor Jack Holloman and Pastor Jerry Waters. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1:00pm and other times at the home.

Ben was born in Beaufort County on August 15, 1956, the son of the late Lonnie Bell Crisp and Susie Pearl Crisp. On March 12, 1976 he married the love of his life Ruby Mae Moore. Through the years he worked for River City Construction, Dixie Lawn Service and Britt Mowing Service until his retirement due to his health. Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He had a great love for his wife and family, and especially enjoyed the time he spent with “Grandaddy’s Little Man,” his grandson, little Bobby.

Along with his wife Ruby, he is survived by two sons, L.B. Crisp III and Bobby Lee Crisp and wife Christina, both of Washington; three sisters, Barbara Crisp Daniels of Chocowinity, Denise Crisp and Ellen Crisp Canela, both of Washington; two brothers, John Robert Crisp and wife April of Pinetown and Gregory Thomas Crisp of Chocowinity; and two grandchildren, Kyleigh Rae Crisp and Bobby Lee Crisp II.
