From last Wednesday to Sunday, Beaufort County Emergency Management and North Carolina Emergency Management hosted the 2017 Eastern Search and Rescue training exercise at Camp Boddie in Blounts Creek. The exercise brought about 150 first responders from multiple states to train in canine team tracking, human tracking and equine tracking, as well as dive and sonar water training. Other local supporting agencies included Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services, American Red Cross, Salvation Army, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Beaufort County communications.
