SHATTERED GLASS MOSAIC CLASS
April 5 and April 7 | 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Heike Winfield of Belhaven will return to teach an exciting class using broken glass, marbles, and a variety of other materials to create a framed mosaic picture on glass, sealed in epoxy and ready to display in a window or show off on a shelf. Using a template of choice, students will create a lasting work of art in this two-evening class. Students are welcome to bring any materials of their own. Total cost is $58 and includes everything for a finished piece.

A word of caution: students will be handling glass with sharp edges, so gloves are recommended.

COLD PROCESSED SOAP MAKING CLASS
April 8 | Noon to 2 p.m.

Instructor and expert soap maker Susan Woodward, owner of Mermaid Tales, Elizabeth City, will take students step-by-step through the cold-processing method of soap making. Her ingredients will include lye (safety glasses and gloves are required and provided), a variety of oils (premixed) and lavender oil for fragrance. Students will first be instructed on each step (handouts with resources and tips included) and then given the opportunity to make their own. They will then take home the 1-pound batch (in a mold) to set overnight to harden. Cutting the finished bars will be demonstrated during the class.

This class is limited to five, but more classes may be scheduled on demand.

Total cost is $30 and includes all materials.

CARD MAKING CLASS
April 22 | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sending or receiving a hand-made card is a rare treat these days, but students can brighten someone’s day by learning how to make personalized cards in this fun class led by Anita Price. She has a wealth of information and supplies to help students make six to 12 special memories to keep or send away. Light refreshments will be provided, compliments of the instructor. Other pleasant surprises are in store.

Maximum number of students will be held to 10, so don’t delay and sign up now. We hope to get her back in the fall for Christmas cards!

Total cost is $35 with all materials included.
