Published 6:55 pm Friday, March 31, 2017

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Betty

Friendly and fun, playful and charming, that’s our Betty. Her American shorthair coat of silky jet black, with a twinkle of a white star on her chest and huge yellow-green eyes, create one gorgeous girl. This lovely, 8-month-old juvenile cat has a sweetheart of a personality and affectionately touches out to you; she loves a good cuddle, too. Wanting and needing love, attention and playtime in a good forever home, Betty will give unconditional love, friendship and companionability in return. Come in and meet her and get acquainted; you’ll be glad you did. She’s available through next Saturday. Betty’s ID#0396.

Rose

A girl that loves tummy rubs, that’s our 4-year-old, American pit bull terrier-mix. Friendly and smart, Rose is a medium-size, attractive girl with a shorthair coat of fawn brown with dark brown eyeliner and muzzle. Sweet and friendly, Rosie is fond of people, preferring a slow, gentle approach when first meeting — next thing you know, she’ll be licking your hand. Already spayed, Rose is good to go, and she needs owner(s) willing to give her their time, attention, love, exercise in a fenced area or on a leash and basic obedience training. She needs a loving forever home where she can be a faithful companion and pet.

If you believe this dog to be yours, please email the shelter staff at animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us, or come by in person to see this dog during regular business hours. No phone calls, please. Proof of ownership is required, which includes veterinarian records or pictures that clearly show you with this dog. Rose’s ID#0370.

Pay her a visit. She’s available through the following Saturday at the shelter.
