Beaufort County Community College hosted 100 seniors and juniors from area high schools to give students a feel for college classes.

On Tuesday, the students had a chance to “test drive” classes and enjoy other activities during BCCC’s Spring Fling.

Participating high schools included Mattamuskeet Early College High School and Northside, Southside and Washington high schools.

While on campus, students attended two classes from 11 different programs, such as medical lab technology, college transfer programs and automotive technology. They got to experience an average day for a college student, with many of the students seeing the campus for the first time.

Spring Fling activities included a huge Xbox and Bongo ball, where students don giant inflatables that allow them to flip and roll. The college raffled off an ENO hammock, the winner of which was Mariah Gurkin.

Registration is ongoing for summer and fall classes. Interested students should visit www.beaufortccc.edu for more information.

SPRING FLING: Part of getting to know the BCCC campus involved having a little bit of fun, as well. Students tried out the Bongo balls as part of Spring Fling activities.
