Mrs. Lyndal Agnes Dixon Mills, age 92, a resident of Chocowinity, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

Graveside services will be 2:30 pm Monday, April 10, 2017 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Dr. Richard D. Sheriff.

Mrs. Mills was born September 30, 1924 in Beaufort County to the late David Wright Dixon and Pearl Estelle Buck Dixon. She was a 1943 graduate of Chocowinity High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Chocowinity. On March 9, 1943, she married Joshua “Josh” Wright Mills Sr. who preceded her in death on January 17, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Josh Mills Jr. and wife Donna of Upper Falls, MD, Joe David Mills Sr. and wife Carol of Washington; one brother, Van Dixon and wife Lola of Chocowinity; one sister, Audrey D. Jones of Chocowinity; five grandchildren, Jennifer Mills and fiance’ Jim Montague of Banner Elk, Joe “Jody” David Mills Jr. of Washington, Olivia Mills of Wilmington, Bradley Burman of Baltimore, MD, Elizabeth Flynn Nocera of Baltimore, MD and three great-grandchildren, Joe David Mills III, Brianna Flynn and Kyle Flynn.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at River Trace Nursing Center in Washington.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Monday prior to the service at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
