Police department hosts Gang Free symposium

The Washington Police Department sponsored part two of a two-part series to create a better understanding of gang psychology, signs and intervention with the NC Gang Free symposium held April 7 at First United Methodist Church in Washington. Seated (left to right) at the table are Washington Police Community Outreach Coordinator Kimberly Grimes, and Michelle and J.P. Guarino, who led the NC Gang Free Symposium on. Standing are students with East Carolina University’s School of Social Work, who attending the program, along with many other teachers, law enforcement officers, judicial system workers and those who simply wanted to attend to find out more information about how gangs operate.
