Chocowinity man charged with trafficking

On April 27, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Darran Boyd, 25 years of age, of 1395 Gray Road in Chocowinity. Boyd was charged with trafficking in heroin.

Boyd’s arrest stemmed from investigators receiving information that Boyd was using and selling heroin. Investigators made purchases of heroin from Boyd. Boyd was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond.
