The Washington Elite All Star cheerleaders are headed to The Summit All-Star Cheerleading Championship for the third time in as many years. The Jr. Reign and Youth ShowStoppers teams are en route to Walt Disney World for the D2 Summit, which starts tomorrow.

“We are so excited and proud of our junior team,” Misty Brown said in a press release. “To win an at-large Summit bid at a two-day national event with the level of competition present speaks volumes about our athletes, their talents, and their coaches. We are excited for these girls to have this opportunity.”

Tumble B gym in Washington opened five years ago. Half a decade in, the programs have garnered first-place awards at numerous competitions, national titles, two U.S. Finals champions, and so much more, according to the press release.

“During our experience as part of the Washington Elite All Stars, we have seen dramatic positive effects on our children, as well as their teammates,” parents Robert and Jaimie Grissom said. Their daughters Alexis Newman, 13, and Alyza Grissom, 9, train with Tumble B. “This is both inside the gym and outside of the gym as we see them applying some of the core principles that make up all-star cheer in their daily routines.”

Parents, supporters and friends sent off the two Tumble B teams on Tuesday night. The cheerleaders are on their way to Orlando and are set to compete starting tomorrow.
