Beaufort County Girl Scouts hosted its second-annual “Me and My Favorite Guy” dance on March 17. The theme was none other than St. Patrick’s Day. The dance was co-planned by two local Girl Scouts: Serena Dickinson from Troop 87 and Kaitlyn Boyd from Troop 1016. Scouts invited their fathers, stepfathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers, etc., who were over the age of 18 to be their dates for the evening. In addition to dancing, the girls and their dates enjoyed fun crafts, games and delicious St. Patrick’s Day-themed snacks. Pictures were also taken to commemorate the evening. The dance was held at the Days Inn in Washington, which donated the use of their facility for the second year in a row. Music for the dance was provided by Mike Keech of J & M DJ Service from Bath. With the hard work of these wonderful young ladies, outstanding businesses and several volunteers, the event was a success.
