Rotary helps in Tanzania

The Rotary Club of Pullman, Washington, joined with the Rotary Club of Mkuu-Rombo, Tanzania, for a $90,000 Rotary Global Grant to help the villagers of Tarakea, a remote town at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The villagers there lacked both clean water and electrical power, so Rotary volunteers joined together for a grant to set up a solar power system, as well as rooftop rainwater harvesting systems with storage tanks for the town’s people. Now they have a sustainable solution to both problems. Just one more way Rotarians are helping others — one way or another.
