Mr. Larry Devonne Lewis, age 81, a resident of 559 Bragaw Lane, Chocowinity, died Thursday morning, May 25, 2017 at his home.

The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, followed by a graveside service at Oakdale Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Ken Cash. Thomas Cook, Paul Keel, Walker Faucette, Holt Faucette, Ed Dixon and Robert Waters will serve as pallbearers. Ed Faucette and Jim Faucette will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Lewis was born in Beaufort County on May 2, 1936, son of the late Rodney Boyce Lewis and Gertie Bright Lewis. On January 15, 1955, he married the former Josephine Ladda Faucette who survives. He worked with Dupont for 16 years and as a car salesman for several local car dealerships. He was co-owner of Pamlico Motor Company and Variety Motors and later worked at Moore’s Auto World.

In addition to his wife, Josephine of the home, he is survived by his daughter: Wanda Lewis Brand and husband J.A. of Chocowinity; his grandchildren: Paul Keel and wife Jamie Lynn of Chocowinity, Kelly Jo Cook and husband Thomas of Greenville and Briley Irene Brand of Greenville; five great-grandchildren: Autumn Keel, Samuel Keel, Dylan Cook, William Cook and Emma Jo Cook and his brother: Elwood Lewis of Chocowinity. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter: Karen Evonne Lewis.
