From Friday to Sunday, residents and out-of-towners gathered in Aurora for the 24^th-annual Aurora Fossil Festival, hosted by the Aurora Fossil Museum. Saturday’s events featured an early morning Fossil 5K Run, paleontology lectures, children’s tent, food, live music, mine tours, lawnmower pull and parade at 11 a.m. to honor veterans. The parade featured participants of all ages and many organizations, from first responders and churches, to young royalty and clowns.
