Windy H. Rose’s law firm in Columbia expanded in April when Monica Mauffray joined the staff as a legal assistant.

Rose, a Columbia native, earned her law degree at Campbell University School of Law. She began her legal career with an Outer Banks law firm, then, a few years later, returned to Columbia to open her own firm, saying she recognized a great need for legal services in this area.

Since then, Rose has gained a reputation for being hardworking and tenacious, and for exhibiting a genuine concern for her clients’ needs.

Rose’s firm, on Main Street opposite the Tyrrell County Courthouse, has grown in its 15 years of existence, including the addition of Nadine Brickhouse and Susie Ainsley as legal assistants over eight years ago.

In August 2016, Rose’s niece, Brooke Johnson, joined the firm as Rose’s associate. Johnson graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in May 2016, and then passed the NC Bar Exam in July.

“I am incredibly blessed to be Windy’s niece,” Brooke Johnson said. “Her influence

led me to follow in her footsteps and become an attorney.”

While the firm is a general practice firm and can help clients with a wide range of legal issues, they most frequently deal with real estate transactions, estate planning, and family and juvenile law cases.

“Though our firm has grown, our vision remains the same as when I founded it years ago,” Rose said. “We still are dedicated to fiercely advocating for each client that chooses us to assist them with their legal issues.”

Also, the firm recently debuted its first website, ibxlaw.com, and Facebook page.
