Turkeys do fly

Recently photographed on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, this flying turkey is one of many you might see walking or flying around refuge fields, roadways and forests.

Summer season refuge interpretive trips run June through August. Programs are scheduled at Pea Island & Alligator River National Wildlife Refuges. Go online to see trips days, times, locations, and descriptions, Guided canoe, van, tram, bear and bird tours, plus much more. Some programs are free!
